Write Denver is an initiative led by Lighthouse Writers Workshop. The goal of Write Denver is to collaborate with fellow community, government and arts organizations, in order to bring together people of all ages and backgrounds to write. Starting in Summer 2016, Picture Me Here and Lighthouse Writers Workshop teach collaborative classes to refugees and immigrants studying English at Emily Griffith Technical College. Participants use photography and writing to explore their surroundings and express themselves as they adjust to living in Denver and the surrounding area. They practice English through their writing and by discussing their photography.
